one thing i struggle with is- does the client have to sign up to be party of metricool. Loomly makes them sign up and I just feel like thats adding more stuff for them to do when I am trying to take stuff off their plate

I have a public Reddit (haven't posted in a while) but when I was active... I got a lot of leads from just sharing my insights and having genuine conversations.

Ugh - I've been spending way too much time on Reddit. I think the anonymity of it is enticing, but almost luring in a negative way. I found myself getting into silly fights with strangers. So, I tried making my profile semi public-ish with a profile picture and obvious links on my profile page so people can find me if they want. It's helped keep me more civil 😬But, I've also considered going full on public so the time spent on the app would be somewhat more productive in terms of self promoting etc...

The problem is that many creators have no access to their supporters outside of the site. They don't have an actual business, so they have no email list or anything that gives them access to "their people" outside of it. Some have Patreon and some use other sites, but still, what a sad day for many if it is to be banned?! 😢

When I studied marketing a few years ago, we were told that "we've moved into the era of social media marketing, since 2010". I've been saying since then, that we're still in the age of relationship marketing, but we use social media as a tool or medium to make those connections and build relationships. To this day, nothing beats networking and connecting with people whose values and interests are aligned with yours and maintaining those relationships, in-person and on social media. We were created as social beings and social media was designed to make relationships, especially over longer distances, possible and more consistent, that's all.
